New Feature: Auto Return To “Normal” Routing

The system now supports switches automatically returning to a “Normal” routing after a designated timeout.

The system has supported “Ladder Tracks” for a long time now. A Ladder Track is a sequence of one or more switches that separate one track into many such as at the entrance to a yard or multi-track station.

For many years the system has supported the ability to manually select a track or automatically send train to the first unoccupied track (you designate the track selection order).

Currently in testing is the ability to designate a “Normal” track and a timeout. “Timeout” seconds after a train has passed and no train is in the switch area, the switches will automatically be realigned to the designated “Normal” track – such as a station bypass track. This allows normal traffic to bypass the station, etc. without having to stop and select the bypass track.

This can also be used to automatically realign a branch/siding switch to the mainline after a train has taken the diverging route. Thus, an engineer can automatically be protected in the rear without having to walk back to the switch after pulling into the clear.

It can also be used to return any “Route” switch to a “Normal” position.

As usual, this new feature will be available to all new and current customers by just downloading and installing the new version of the firmware.
